CetaMada was represented by Francois-Xavier Mayer and Maria-Alejandra Faria at the 7th WIOMSA Symposium: Coping with Global Change from the 24th to the 29th of October. This scientific meeting takes place every 2 years. It aims to update all scientists and environmental managers on the newest approaches and research in the Indian Ocean Region, as well as being an unique opportunity to share ideas face-to-face with collegues. This year more than 450 people participated, more than 200 presentations were held, and more than 230 poster exhibited from which 2 were of our NGO. Also CetaMada had the opportunity to participate at the special session on Progressing Dugong Conservation in the South West Indian Ocean Sub-Region. We thank the WIOMSA for they amazing organization on this important event and also for sponsoring the trip of our marine biologist and project coordinator, MSc Faria.
